Network Coverage
ABC and CNN seem to be updating their details a little faster - they had Florida precincts reporting at 47% while the other sites were at 44%.
ABC on TV is calling it 174 to 76, ABC's web site also has it 174 to 76, pretty tight updates there.
On-line widgets are behind, but the updates have started coming through and CBS has pulled ahead, they have it as:
Gadget Obama McCain Total called
CBS 174 100 274
MSNBC 175 76 251
CNN 174 49 223
I was going to look around and see what other bloggers were doing, but the first link I followed led to an attack site - luckily my browser was well defended and I just got a warning dialog. Yech. Obviously, the hackers are also thinking about what will drive traffic on election day!
Hmm, this was close to the first widget based attack I've experienced, it looked like it was going to be some sort of video player or something. The warning I got indicated that the adress I was being redirected to was a known "bad" source, which is interesting. The implication is that active counter-measures stopped me from even going to the site that was probably loaded with exploits. Sonuds like a case of the "ounce of prevention being worth a pound of cure."
It's 6:12, dinner time!
Back for more after dinner. Talk about ultimate nerdiness: a presidential election is going on and I'm focussed on the widgets, web sites, reporting velocity, and news decision-to-widget update latency.
